We are looking for an Accountant who is excited by the opportunity to grow their career while helping strengthen the financial operations that support the business. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Accounting, this role is ideal for someone who has a solid accounting foundation and is ready to take the next step in their career. You'll take ownership of key accounting processes, support financial reporting and job costing, and work with team members across the organization to ensure accurate and timely financial information. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting Prepare & review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and other month-end close items. Reconcile bank, payroll, job-cost, and other financial accounts. Support monthly financial reporting and investigate significant variances. Maintain accurate records and documentation. Accounts Payable & Payroll Oversight Oversee accurate and timely AP, AR, deposits, and payroll workflows. Set up vendors, code invoices, and verify proper approvals and documentation. Review aging, payment, and vendor issues and resolve discrepancies. Provide backup support for critical accounting functions. Job Costing, Inventory, and Service Receivables Oversee service receivables, material sales, warranty work, and other small jobs. Review job costs, inventory activity, labor, purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders. Ensure costs, billings, and documentation are complete before jobs are closed. Support WIP schedules, revenue recognition, and construction accounting reporting. Tax, Compliance, Audit, and Internal Controls Review sales and use tax documentation and support required filings. Prepare documentation for audits, tax preparation, banking, and surety reporting. Maintain internal controls and address recurring errors or gaps. Follow accounting policies, approval requirements, and confidentiality standards. Workflow Leadership and Cross-Functional Support Coordinate the Accounting Assistant's workflow and review work for accuracy. Maintain accounting procedures, checklists, and cross-training. Support accounting questions, projects, and process improvements across departments. Assist accounting leadership with reporting, audits, controls, and special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close. Working knowledge of AP, AR, payroll, and financial reporting. Experience with inventory, cost accounting, or other project-based accounting preferred. Construction accounting experience preferred ; manufacturing or similar work-in-progress, project/cost-based accounting experience is also applicable. Experience reviewing work for accuracy and working across departments to resolve discrepancies. Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred ; relevant education and experience will be considered. Experience with job costing/WIP, revenue recognition, multi-state sales tax, and Sage 50/100 is a plus but can be learned on the job .
