Job Description

The Tax Accountant ensures accurate, compliant tax return processing and delivers proactive tax planning for our healthcare clients. This role works as part of a team, building strong client relationships and applying healthcare-specific industry knowledge. By building strong client relationships and leveraging modern accounting technology, we deliver personalized service and strategic advice, ultimately helping clients navigate complex tax landscapes effectively. Responsibilities Perform full scope of tax return processing, reporting, and filing for our healthcare clients across all entity types, including Individuals, Partnerships, C-Corps, S-Corps, and disregarded entities, managing assigned returns from intake through filing, including extensions and amended returns Collaborate and work as part of a team to deliver healthcare-specific industry knowledge and experience and ensure timely, high-quality work Manage ongoing compliance filings, including quarterly tax estimates, sales and use tax returns, fixed assets and business personal property tax filings, 1099 compliance filings, and miscellaneous state and local filings as needed Complete recurring analyses as needed, such as rent analysis, and adjust findings accordingly Participate in client onboarding meetings, assisting with documentation and information gathering needed to support the team's work Deliver tax insights and guidance to clients during tax planning meetings, helping them understand their options and make informed decisions Serve as a point of contact for clients for tax-related matters, delivering prompt, personalized service and responding to all inquiries in a timely manner Respond to and resolve notices from taxing authorities across return types such as income, sales/use, franchise, and PTE, as well as tax registrations such as S-corp elections Crossroads Tax Advisors expects you to fulfill these duties to your best abilities with the highest standard of care & ethics. Any communication with clients or business partners is expected to be in a professional & timely manner. We strive to address any client emails or phone calls within a 24-hour timeframe. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or related field; CPA certification preferred (candidate at minimum) 2+ years of relevant experience, dental and healthcare industry a plus Experience servicing multiple client engagements Ability to interpret and apply statutory and regulatory guidelines and requirements Prior experience with UltraTax software preferred Strong client service orientation, with a proactive approach to anticipating client needs and delivering a consistently professional experience Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook Comfortable working in a technology-forward environment, with a willingness to learn and lead new software programs, including AI-assisted tools Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Coachable, with a desire to learn and adapt quickly to new tasks Commitment to honesty, trustworthiness and high ethical standards Able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
