Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Staff member to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the organization's financial operations by performing essential accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and assisting in financial reporting processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in various accounting disciplines within a collaborative environment dedicated to excellence and integrity. Duties Prepare and record journal entries, including debits and credits, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Conduct account reconciliations such as bank statements, general ledger accounts, and subsidiary ledgers to maintain data integrity Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking Support financial statement preparation and interpretation, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports Perform detailed financial analysis using Excel data analysis tools like VLOOKUP functions and spreadsheets to identify discrepancies or trends Ensure regulatory compliance by assisting with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls, governmental reporting, and regulatory filings Maintain accurate records of financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar systems; support audit processes through documentation and data retrieval Skills Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, and financial concepts such as debits & credits Experience with financial software applications like QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, PeopleSoft or equivalent platforms Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills for data analysis and report writing Familiarity with regulatory standards including SOX compliance, GAAP guidelines, and securities law where applicable Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, budget monitoring, and cash flow analysis effectively Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices, governmental accounting standards, or public accounting is a plus Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to mentor junior team members is desirable Strong communication skills for clear financial report interpretation and collaboration across departments Join us in this vital role where your expertise will contribute directly to our organization's financial health while providing opportunities for professional growth.
