Jobs › East Longmeadow, MA › Staff Accountant Robert Half Staff Accountant East Longmeadow, MA Apply Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accounting operations within a manufacturing environment in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. This contract role will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, supporting balance sheet integrity, and assisting with key accounting functions related to an acquired business. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting expertise, solid reconciliation skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and complete balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timely resolution of outstanding items.
Record journal entries and maintain supporting documentation for routine and non-routine accounting activity.
Review general ledger transactions, identify discrepancies, and help correct variances impacting financial reporting.
Support accounting work associated with integrating financial records and processes from an acquired business.
Assist with sales and corporate tax-related accounting tasks, including gathering data needed for filings and internal review.
Partner with internal stakeholders to maintain organized records and improve the reliability of month-end close activities.
Analyze account activity and provide clear explanations for fluctuations, adjustments, and reconciliation outcomes. Requirements
Experience in staff accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or similar operational environment.
Strong background in balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger account analysis.
Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries with a high level of accuracy.
Working knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and support for corporate tax return processes.
Ability to investigate accounting discrepancies and resolve issues independently.
Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a Contract role.
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across accounting and business teams.
