Job Description

Staff Accountant Georgetown, MA | Full-Time | On-Site Our client is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join the team and play an important role across accounting. Reporting directly to the Controller , this is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, and being a key part of a busy and collaborative organization. The Opportunity This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of a broad range of accounting and administrative responsibilities while working closely with the Controller and supporting the day-to-day operations of the business. What You'll Do Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Process daily cash receipts, deposits, and customer payments Enter vendor invoices and prepare weekly check runs Reconcile vendor statements, bank accounts, and corporate credit cards Create and close purchase orders and ensure expenses are accurately assigned to jobs Process weekly payroll , including employee adjustments, deductions, and payroll accruals Support monthly invoicing, budget billing, and construction progress billing Assist with collections and provide customer statements and invoice documentation Support the monthly close process, including journal entries and job-cost reporting Prepare sales and use tax returns and annual 1099s Assist with employee onboarding, terminations, benefits, leave administration, and employee changes Provide backup support to the Controller, reception, and other office functions as needed What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field 2+ years of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience Hands-on experience with AP, AR, payroll, and account reconciliations Strong proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and Excel Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong organization and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working independently while also being a collaborative team player Why This Opportunity? Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
