We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining accurate financial records, managing routine transactional activity, and contributing to a well-organized finance function. Responsibilities:

Prepare and record journal entries to maintain accurate financial data and support month-end activities. Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to keep records complete and current. Process vendor invoices, coordinate payment activity, and help manage accounts payable workflows. Monitor customer balances, apply incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding receivables as part of accounts receivable support. Create billing documents and invoices with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness, and timely distribution. Maintain accounting spreadsheets and reports in Excel to track transactions and support analysis. Use QuickBooks to enter, review, and organize financial information for routine accounting operations. Assist with documentation, recordkeeping, and other accounting tasks that contribute to smooth daily financial processes. At least 1 year of accounting experience Working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger activity, and standard accounting procedures. Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and invoicing. Proficiency in Excel for maintaining schedules, tracking data, and supporting reporting needs. Experience using QuickBooks in an accounting environment with strong attention to detail. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage financial information accurately. Effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize routine accounting responsibilities.
