Accountant (FT- 1.0 FTE, Day Shift)

Job Description

Position Summary:
The Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial and accounting operations of Bozeman Health and affiliates through journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, asset record keeping and financial reporting. This role plays a key part in the monthly close process, fixed asset accounting, Foundation accounting and health and benefit plan accounting. The Accountant maintains financial integrity by ensuring timely and accurate reporting, supporting capital procurement and tracking, leading and validating the annual physical inventory process and serving as an accounting process support expert to leaders and teams throughout the organization. This position is also responsible for workpaper and data support in the annual budgeting, auditing and regulatory reporting functions across the health system.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Two (2) years of accounting experience.
Preferred:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) One (1) to Two (2) years of healthcare experience.
Essential Job Functions:
In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations. Asset Management tracking, reconciliation, and reporting. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions and balance sheet accounts. Lead year-end physical inventory process and validation. Compile Foundation accounting records and produce financial reports. Maintain health and benefit plan records and reporting. Prepare and assist with audit and budget workpapers. Other accounting functions to support the needs of the Finance team. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrate sound judgment, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Exercise tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains confidentiality. Perform essential job functions successfully in a fast-paced environment. Learn current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized at Bozeman Health. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. Exposures (Rarely): Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed. Various chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances. Infectious diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
