Full-Time About Us Buttress & Company, P.C. is a growing small business in Carrollton, Missouri, seeking a motivated and experienced Tax Accountant to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with individuals and businesses, providing tax preparation, planning, and advisory services in a professional yet personable environment. Responsibilities Prepare and review individual, business, partnership, and corporate tax returns. Conduct tax research and provide guidance on federal, state, and local tax matters. Assist clients with tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize compliance. Communicate directly with clients regarding tax questions and documentation requirements. Respond to IRS and state tax notices and assist with audits when necessary. Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations. Stay current on tax laws, regulations, and industry developments. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of tax preparation and tax accounting experience required. Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws. Experience preparing business and individual tax returns. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines during busy tax seasons. Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software. Preferred Qualifications Enrolled Agent (EA) designation or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred. Experience working with small business clients is highly desirable.
