Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting financial reporting processes. Your expertise with various accounting software and systems will help maintain accurate financial records, facilitate audits, and contribute to the organization's overall financial health. Duties Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks and Restaurant 365. Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation. Assist with internal controls compliance. Conduct data entry, analysis of Excel spreadsheets, and detailed account analysis to identify discrepancies or anomalies. Handle confidential financial information with integrity while maintaining strict data security protocols. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects involving technical accounting issues, governmental and third-party reporting. General payroll processing and human resources knowledge is a plus. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with familiarity in corporate accounting practices. Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation techniques. Hands-on experience with financial software such as QuickBooks and Restaurant365 is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel—for data analysis and spreadsheet management. Understanding of internal controls and technical accounting concepts. Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and account analysis. Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while demonstrating strong organizational skills. Public accounting experience or background in bookkeeping is a plus but not required. $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
