Job Description

Description:
Larken Associates is a leading privately owned real estate investment and development company, with 60 years as a leader in the industry. We are looking for a Commercial Property Accountant. Reporting to the Controller, you will manage accounting for an assigned portfolio of commercial properties while partnering with Leasing, Asset Management, and Accounting teams. We are looking for a detail-oriented accounting professional with commercial real estate experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Perform full-cycle GL accounting for an assigned portfolio of commercial properties. Review tenant ledgers, rent charges, payments, and accounts receivable. Ensure vendor invoices are accurately posted, approved, and paid on time. Process and track weekly vendor payments. Maintain lease data in Yardi, including move-ins, move-outs, renewals, modifications, and terminations. Verify that rent and other tenant charges are billed according to lease agreements. Monitor utility accounts and process tenant billbacks as needed. Prepare and bill CAM and real estate tax estimates and annual reconciliations. Respond to tenant billing inquiries, including CAM, tax, and utility charges. Coordinate with Leasing, Asset Management, vendors, tenants, and outside counsel when necessary.
Requirements:
Requirements/Qualifications:
Four-year undergraduate degree in accounting or finance or equivalent on-the-job experience and training. At least four years of commercial real estate accounting experience. Excellent analytical, time management and communications skills. Strong understanding of accounting principles and general ledger accounting. Commercial real estate accounting experience, including retail, industrial, and office properties. Experience with tenant billing, CAM reconciliations, and lease administration. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. At least three years' experience using Yardi (Voyager 7; Commercial Cafe).

Competitive, based on skill and experience; year-end performance bonus
