Job Description

Job Summary A company local to Lawrenceville Nj is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Non-Profit Accountant to join their organization's finance team. This role is vital in managing the financial operations of our non-profit initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the organization's mission through accurate financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and reconcile the organization's general ledger Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports Manage accounts receivable and payable processes, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and payments Conduct bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to verify accuracy of financial data Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to non-profit organizations, including securities law and governmental accounting standards Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support organizational planning Oversee journal entries, accrual accounting, and double-entry bookkeeping procedures Generate detailed financial reports for board meetings, grants management, and external auditors Mentor junior staff or interns in accounting procedures and software use Collaborate with teams on financial report writing and interpretation to inform strategic decision-making
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Minimum of three years' experience in non-profit or corporate accounting Knowledge of securities law as it pertains to nonprofit investments is desirable Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Excel data analysis tools like VLOOKUP functions and spreadsheets
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
