Salary Range:
$100,000/yr•$110,000/yr
Overview :
Development Accounting Manager will support the financial oversight of the organization's real estate development projects, government-funded contracts, and nonprofit operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role partners closely with the Accounting, Contracts, and Development teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective management of development and operational funding.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain the financial records for multiple development projects from acquisition through completion. Prepare monthly lender and owner requisitions, construction draw packages, and review AIA applications. Review development contracts, monitor project budgets, and analyze budget-to-actual variances. Prepare journal entries, review accounts payable activity, complete bank reconciliations, and assist with month-end close. Support the financial administration of government-funded contracts, including vouchers, reimbursement requests, and required financial reporting. Prepare budget-to-actual reports and assist with regulatory filings, including CFR, CBR, SEFA, and other required funding reports. Ensure compliance with grant requirements, government contracts, and nonprofit accounting standards. Assist with annual financial and funding source audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation. Collaborate with the CFO, Accounting, Contracts, and Development teams on financial planning, cash projections, and special projects. Remain current with all agency-required compliance documents and trainings.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. CPA preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization. Experience with government-funded contracts, grants, and financial reporting required. Real estate development, construction accounting, or property accounting experience required. Knowledge of affordable or supportive housing funding, including OMH, HUD, or similar funding sources preferred. Advanced Excel skills and experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems strongly preferred. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills required

$100,000.00•$110,000.00 per year
