Duties Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, accounts payable, and accounts receivable management using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday. Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date. Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and financial reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards. Conduct account reconciliation processes for various accounts including credit analysis and account analysis to identify discrepancies or errors. Handle confidential information with integrity while managing financial data entry and maintaining data security protocols. Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, including ledger review and audit preparation. Utilize multiple financial software systems such as ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, or Paychex to streamline payroll processing and employee time tracking. Assist with internal controls compliance related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and ensure adherence to company policies. Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions. Use advanced Excel data analysis skills to generate reports, analyze trends, and support decision-making processes. Requirements Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles with a solid understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation. Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, Ceridian, ADP or similar platforms; experience with multiple systems is a plus. Strong knowledge of GAAP standards as well as governmental accounting practices when applicable. Experience working within public accounting firms or corporate accounting departments preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel—for data analysis and report generation. Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account reconciliation. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high ethical standards. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of SOX compliance procedures and technical accounting principles is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to perform account analysis, credit analysis, and general ledger reconciliation efficiently.
