We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our team as we prepare for the retirement of a valued employee who has been an important part of our organization for more than two decades. Position Summary The Project Accountant serves as a financial partner to our Project Managers and operations teams, helping ensure accurate job costing, billing, project reporting, vendor management, and overall project financial success. Responsibilities Project Accounting & Cost Management Maintain project records within Sage 300, Procore, and related systems. Support project setup, budgets, contracts, and change order management. Prepare owner billings, including AIA billing documentation. Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections. Process customer payments and maintain client records. Track labor costs and support project cost reporting. Assist with timekeeping, certified payroll reporting, and payroll requirements. Partner with Project Managers to maintain accurate project financial information. Accounts Payable & General Accounting Process vendor invoices and maintain accurate job cost coding. Reconcile vendor statements and respond to inquiries. Support payment processing and annual 1099 reporting. Assist with account reconciliations and month-end close activities. Maintain fixed asset and other accounting records. Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects. Qualifications Required Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience. Three or more years of accounting, bookkeeping, or project accounting experience. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Preferred Construction industry experience. Experience with Sage 300 CRE and/or Procore. Knowledge of job costing, construction billing, and project accounting. Why Paul Risk Construction?
