Job Description

Job Overview Staff Accountant New Castle School of Trades, an 81-year-old Trade School with a proven history of helping graduates attain successful career opportunities, is seeking a staff accountant for our team.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist with Monthly P&L Statements for multiple locations. Maintenance of Working Papers. Revenue Calculations. Bank reconciliations for multiple accounts. Cash receipts. Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Bachelor's degree required Proficiency in Excel Knowledge of Sage 100 is a plus Responsibilities Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards such as GAAP. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify the integrity of financial data. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment management using systems like Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including general ledger reconciliation using software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms. Support payroll management tasks by processing payroll data through systems like Workday or ADP while ensuring compliance with tax regulations. Maintain accurate records of financial transactions through data entry and double-entry bookkeeping practices. Collaborate on internal audits related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and prepare documentation for external audits. Contribute to budgeting, financial reporting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus. Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with Workday or UltiPro is highly desirable. Strong understanding of GAAP principles and technical accounting standards. Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Kronos and experience with tax compliance procedures. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in 10-key typing is preferred. Ability to perform account reconciliation, analyze financial data, and prepare detailed reports efficiently. Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is advantageous but not required.
