full-time Large distribution company headquartered in the Philadelphia area is looking to hire an experienced Senior Accountant to be a key member of the Corporate Accounting team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the following: Participate in the monthly close and reporting process in accordance with GAAP Prepare and/or review journal entries and account reconciliations Perform accounting research to determine proper classification and recording of transactions Track budgets to actuals monthly, analyzing and researching discrepancies Assist with fixed asset accounting Identify ways to create efficiencies or automate processes Perform detailed analysis of accounts to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement Facilitate annual audits, providing documentation, support, and explanations Participate in special projects The Senior Accountant should possess the following: BS in Accounting or Finance 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience Prior experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or retail industries preferred Proficient with Excel Self-starter with the desire to learn Excellent communication skills
