Occupational Category Professional Department Associate Controller - Financial Reporting Division Division of Finance and Operations Open Date 09/09/2026 Open Until Filled Yes Educational and Experience Requirement Bachelor's degree in Accounting or degree in Business related field from a four-year college. No prior experience required. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered. Nature & Purpose of Position Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information, prepares journal entries, allocates financial transactions and recommends appropriate accounting treatment of financial transactions. Performs data entry into the Unified State Accounting System (USAS). Primary Responsibilities Monitors state appropriations. Performs various state accounting tasks including, but not limited to, data processing, requesting reimbursements, draws and returns of state appropriations, and reconciling and correcting discrepancies between the University's accounting system and Unified State Accounting System (USAS). Reviews transactions imported into USAS from Banner for accuracy and correctness. Assists with year-end closing procedures and preparation of state financial reports. Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries documents and reports. Determines proper handling of financial transactions. Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and University policy and procedures. Assists with various special projects as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
