Maintain accounting procedures, policies, and internal controls to ensure financial integrity.
Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping, including A/P and A/R.
Assist with preparation of the annual organizational budget, with staff input.
Support staff in developing grant and program budgets; maintain and generate budget reports.
Oversee departmental budgets and communicate with managers on budget performance.
Manage purchasing of supplies and equipment with consideration for budgets and program/exhibit needs.
Perform HR-related tasks such as new employee onboarding and serving as the liaison with the insurance broker for health insurance.
Handle occasional administrative tasks such as mail runs and errands.
Take on non-routine assignments requiring judgment, initiative, and problem-solving. Qualifications
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (transactions, budgeting, reporting).
Experience with Altru/Financial Edge is a plus.
Accounting degree or equivalent work experience.
Strong Excel skills.
3-5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (nonprofit or small business a plus).
Experience with creating, maintaining, and reporting on program/project budgets.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
High attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and strong problem-solving abilities. Position Details
Hours:
Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Schedule:
Occasional weekends/evenings required of all staff.
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience.
Hybrid Work Schedule:
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule after initial 90-day training period, based on job performance, demonstrated ability to work independently, departmental needs, and supervisor authorization.
