Job Description

Assistant Manager We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to support the successful operation of a busy branch and serve as a key partner to the General Manager. This position will play an important role in branch leadership, operations, inventory management, and purchasing, with primary ownership of Fresh Buying. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can build strong relationships, hold teams accountable, and help drive operational and business results.
What You'll Do:
Partner with the General Manager in overseeing branch operations, customer experience, employee performance, and business results. Serve as a leader-on-duty and provide management coverage in the General Manager's absence. Take ownership of Fresh Buying, including purchasing, replenishment, inventory planning, and product movement. Monitor inventory accuracy and product care and handling to maximize freshness and reduce product loss. Identify opportunities to improve inventory turns and align product levels with customer demand. Partner with Central Purchasing and department leaders to ensure effective purchasing and inventory planning. Support business planning, budgeting, and ongoing monitoring of branch performance. Lead by example and promote a culture of teamwork, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Support employee engagement initiatives and other company projects that strengthen the branch and its people. Contribute to initiatives focused on leadership development and operational excellence.
What We're Looking For:
At least 3 years of experience in management, sales, logistics, inventory, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and achieve results. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Solid business acumen, particularly in sales, operations, or inventory management. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to take ownership and work independently while partnering effectively with others. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems. Ability to travel periodically. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Floral industry experience is a plus.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
