Full Job Description Overview:
Univest Bank is seeking an Area Manager to lead and support Financial Centers across several markets, including Philadelphia, Bucks County, and West Chester, PA, as well as Ocean City, NJ. This leader strengthens community relationships, develops high-performing teams, and collaborates across the organization to deliver an exceptional customer experience. The role requires strategic thinking, accountability, and a passion for positioning Univest as the primary financial institution in the communities we serve, while providing broad experience that supports future leadership opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Assuming the responsibility for ensuring the optimum efficiency and effectiveness of the financial centers within an assigned market by: 70% Sales & Service Development Develop, deploy and monitor strategies and tactics designed to achieve various goals and objectives including the development of team members. Promote independent thinking amongst financial center managers; encourage and guide managers to present solutions to situations within the Financial Center including employee relations. Develops and oversees the consumer acquisition, growth, sales and service activities of an assigned group of Financial Centers. Develop and implement coaching plans based on various sales performance and profitability reports Supervise, advise and coach Financial Center Manager and staff in the more complex phases of their responsibilities Provides ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and field leadership to Financial Center Managers and teams through regular market visits (minimum of two visits per Financial Center per month), review of sales and service results, and documented development discussions to drive consistent execution, team engagement, and market performance. Coaches Financial Center Managers in the development and execution of market growth strategies, including deposit growth, integrated sales and revenue generation, business development planning, and joint calling efforts with existing and prospective customers. Partner with Commercial Banking, Wealth, Mortgage, Treasury Management, and Small Business teams to drive enterprise growth. Achieves stated corporate sales goals and service expectations for area of responsibility. 20% Management Issues/Operations Reviews and recommends improved operations policies and procedures and ensuring the proper implementation and maintenance of approved changes Makes recommendations for personnel regarding employment, performance ratings, salary changes, staffing, promotions, transfers and terminations Create and maintain Financial Center budget process and adhere to established expense and income parameters. Plans for and recommends the expansion of banking facilities, increases in staff, and changes in hours of business Resolves customer complaints and related issues within region Reviews and recommends improvements to physical appearance of the Financial Centers 10% Leadership Team Meetings Conducts a minimum of (1) monthly joint meeting with Financial Center Managers to plan and coordinate all activities in a consistent direction and execution. Conducts monthly one-on-one meetings with Financial Center Managers to review personal, sales and FC performance Directs and assists Financial Center Managers with establishing FC deposit and loan growth and integrated sales goals Participates on various in-house committees as assigned Represents the bank in various civic and community functions to further enhance the bank's image and to develop new business Promotes a culture of teamwork, shared accountability, and mutual support across all financial centers. Accountable for compliance with laws and regulations that apply to this position including the Univest Code of Conduct. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 8+ years of Consumer Banking experience required. 5+ years of leadership experience required; multi-site management experience preferred. Demonstrated experience developing and coaching high-performing teams. Strong business development, sales leadership, and relationship management skills. Working knowledge of branch banking operations, banking regulations, policies, and procedures. Working knowledge of Consumer and Commercial banking products, services, lending solutions, and relationship strategies preferred. Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate across business lines and enterprise partners. Strong commitment to customer service excellence and community engagement. Ability to prioritize, adapt, and successfully manage multiple initiatives while achieving established goals. Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to build community relationships and identify opportunities to grow market share within an assigned geography. Ability to analyze performance dashboards and KPI reporting to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Demonstrated ability to communicate organizational change and reinforce desired behaviors.
Wage Range:
