Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Centerton, AR

Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A well-established long-term care pharmacy in Centerton, AR, seeks an experienced Pharmacist for a 13-week contract with potential to transition to permanent employment based on performance. This role offers an engaging blend of clinical and operational responsibilities in a supportive healthcare environment.
Location:
Centerton, AR Contract Duration:
13 weeks, contract to hire
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Rotating weekends every 3 weeks
Key Responsibilities:
Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately to patients. Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of overuse. Ensure compliance with legal regulations related to medication supply and dispensing. Maintain confidential, accurate patient and pharmacy records. Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, and drug interactions. Deliver additional health services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors. Compound medications for internal and external use and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols. Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks to maintain smooth pharmacy operations. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to resolve drug-related issues and optimize patient care.
Qualifications and Experience:
Possession of an active Arkansas pharmacist license. Will consider retail pharmacists with relevant skills and a willingness to train in long-term care settings. Experience with PV1 and PV2 duties and some IV compounding is preferred.
