Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of our growing, multi-location surgical practice. The ideal candidate has strong QuickBooks experience, understands multi-entity or multi-location accounting, and takes pride in maintaining accurate, organized, and audit-ready financial records. Experience working with surgical centers, physician practices, healthcare organizations, or other multi-location businesses is strongly preferred. Duties Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks Review, categorize, and reconcile bank and credit card transactions Perform monthly bank, credit card, loan, and balance-sheet reconciliations Track income and expenses by location, department, provider, or entity Maintain a clean and consistent chart of accounts Identify duplicate, missing, unusual, or incorrectly categorized transactions Manage accounts payable, including invoice entry, approval tracking, and payment scheduling Support accounts receivable tracking and follow up on outstanding balances as needed Record payroll entries and reconcile payroll reports, benefits, and related liabilities Maintain vendor records, collect W-9 forms, and assist with annual 1099 preparation Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit-and-loss statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow summaries Assist with budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and location-level financial reporting Maintain organized supporting documentation for transactions and journal entries Help establish and follow bookkeeping procedures and internal controls Coordinate with management, outside accountants, tax professionals, payroll providers, and other partners Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities Protect confidential employee, patient, vendor, and business information Research and resolve discrepancies promptly Requirements At least 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop Demonstrated experience categorizing transactions and maintaining clean financial data Proficiency with bank and credit card reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general-ledger maintenance Solid understanding of accrual and cash-basis accounting Ability to read and interpret profit-and-loss statements, balance sheets, and general-ledger reports Strong Google Sheets skills Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently Strong written and verbal communication skills High level of discretion when handling confidential financial and healthcare-related information Preferred Qualifications Bookkeeping experience with a multi-location surgical practice, ambulatory surgery center, physician group, or other healthcare organization Experience tracking financial activity across multiple locations, departments, providers, or legal entities Familiarity with medical-practice operations and healthcare accounting workflows Experience supporting month-end close, budgeting, payroll reconciliation, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification or a bookkeeping/accounting credential Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field What Success Looks Like The successful candidate will produce accurate and timely financial records, keep accounts fully reconciled, maintain consistent transaction categorization, and proactively identify issues before they affect reporting. Management should be able to rely on the books to make informed decisions across every location.
