This is an entry-level accounting position intended for an individual with a basic accounting background and an understanding of fundamental accounting principles. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and comfortable working with numbers and financial information. The ability to accurately process information, maintain records, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment is essential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Scan, organize, and maintain digital files for invoices, freight tickets, and supporting documentation. Assist with freight bill batching, scanning, filing, and record retention. Assist with daily billing activities, including reviewing supporting documents and entering information into customer portals. Collect, track, and organize employee timecards and payroll-related records. Calculate employee hours and review timekeeping information for accuracy and completeness. Review driver logs, timecards, freight tickets, and related documentation for accuracy and completeness. Enter payroll information into company software systems. Assist with routine accounting and office tasks as needed. Learn and follow company accounting, billing, payroll, and recordkeeping procedures. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or education in accounting, bookkeeping, business administration, or a related field preferred. Some accounting or bookkeeping experience is required , which may include billing, payroll, invoicing, accounts receivable, or general accounting support. Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping. Ability to accurately enter, review, and reconcile financial and operational information. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Good organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to learn and effectively use company accounting and software systems. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependable, punctual, and professional. Preferred Qualifications Accounting, bookkeeping, or business coursework. Experience with Microsoft Excel. Experience with billing, payroll, invoicing, accounts receivable, or general accounting functions. Experience in transportation, trucking, construction, logistics, or a related industry. Familiarity with freight tickets, vendor invoices, purchase orders, or customer billing. Requirements Reliable attendance and ability to meet established deadlines. Ability to learn and follow company procedures and instructions. Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional accounting or business coursework is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer. Ability to perform repetitive data entry, scanning, filing, and computer-related tasks. Ability to occasionally lift and carry files, boxes, or office materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
Pay:
$21.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
