We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team in Marcus, IA. In this vital role, you will manage the company's accounts payable and participate in the accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions. Your expertise in accounting systems, financial concepts, and software tools will support our commitment to financial integrity and operational excellence. Duties Process and verify all accounts payable transactions, including matching invoices to purchase orders and receipts and preparing payments and maintain vendor records Record daily payments made on accounts Perform account reconciliations for general ledger accounts. Organize and create reports on past due balances by account. Conduct thorough data entry of financial transactions while handling confidential information with integrity and discretion Assist in month-end closing procedures Support internal audits by maintaining organized records of all payable and receivable documentation Participate in annual inventory audits and counts Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently Communicate with vendors and internal team members Qualifications Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and journal entries Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Excellent numeracy skills coupled with attention to detail for accurate account analysis and reconciliation Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high levels of accuracy in data entry and record keeping Effective communication skills to provide exceptional customer service internally and externally What We Offer Competitive pay Health insurance Retirement plan Paid time off Employee discounts Company Overview Marcus Lumber is a leading retail home improvement center renowned for being the place where quality and service make the difference.
