We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our team at Salt Industries. As a premier B2B provider of commercial snow removal equipment, truck upfitting, bulk rock salt, and liquid brine solutions, we operate a fast-paced, hands-on environment. This role combines essential bookkeeping responsibilities with administrative support for our leadership team, ensuring smooth office operations and accurate financial record-keeping. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and possess excellent communication skills. You will play a vital role in maintaining and exploring efficient workflows, helping manage client interactions, processing documentation, and tracking the logistics of equipment and materials moving through our facility.
Responsibilities Full-Cycle Bookkeeping:
Manage day-to-day accounting using QuickBooks Online , including processing Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), invoicing, expense tracking, and bank reconciliations.
Documentation & Logistics:
Assist in the organization and processing of critical operational paperwork, including bills of lading (BOLs), pull tickets, incoming parts orders, and service job logs for truck upfits.
System Data Entry:
Perform accurate data entry into our tracking systems to keep warehouse loading workflows, inventory, and equipment installation statuses up to date.
Executive Support:
Serve as the primary administrative support for our leadership team, assisting with scheduling, vendor communications, and project coordination.
Front Desk & Communications:
Assist with multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing exceptional customer service. Greet visitors, answer inquiries, and occasionally manage client communications.
Office Management:
Maintain organized filing systems for financial documents and contracts, manage office supplies, and ensure all clerical work is completed efficiently.
Proven experience using QuickBooks Online for AP/AR, invoicing, and general bookkeeping tasks.
Administrative Background:
Prior office experience with a strong background in administrative support, data entry, and multi-line phone systems.
Tech-Literate:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) , and the technical aptitude to quickly learn custom internal web applications and inventory software.
Detail-Oriented:
Exceptional attention to detail, especially when managing high-volume logistical and financial documentation.
Organization & Multitasking:
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Helpful Skills:
Bilingual abilities to enhance client communication, or previous experience in a B2B, fleet service, or construction-adjacent environment. Pay:
$24.88 - $29.96 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 50.0 per week
