The Customer Accounts Associate is responsible for managing freight claims, credit requests, deduction resolutions, product return authorizations, and Amazon account disputes. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to research discrepancies, resolve customer deductions, recover lost revenue, and maintain accurate customer account records. This position is on-site 4 days a week in Elgin, IL. Functions of the
Position:
Reviews and evaluates freight deductions, obtains supporting documentation, and routes information to the appropriate departments for review and approval. Determines when freight claims should be filed for damaged, lost, or shorted shipments and coordinates the collection and completion of required documentation in partnership with the Shipping Department. Researches and disputes shortage claims through Amazon's vendor platforms. Opens, manages, and follows up on Amazon dispute cases to ensure timely resolution. Collects and maintains supporting documentation for Amazon deductions and chargebacks. Reviews and resolves aging Amazon account balances by researching disputed amounts, unapplied payments, deductions, and credit memos. Prepares and distributes Amazon account statements as needed. Collaborates with Customer Service, Sales, Shipping, and Accounting teams to investigate and resolve customer account issues. Maintains accurate records of claims, disputes, deductions, credits, and account activity. Education, Experience, and Knowledge Some college coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred. One (1) or more years of Accounts Receivable, customer account management, deductions, or collections experience preferred. Experience researching and resolving customer deductions, discrepancies, and account issues preferred. Skills and Competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal departments. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other business systems. Strong working knowledge of spreadsheets, data entry, and basic accounting principles. Accurate 10-key data entry skills. Strong mathematical aptitude and analytical skills. Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to research, analyze, and resolve account discrepancies in a timely manner. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The starting hourly range for this position is $20.60-$27.63. The hourly rate offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for performance-based incentives subject to the terms of the underlying plan.
