Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our pediatric practice. This role is responsible for managing patient and insurance payments, ensuring accurate posting of transactions, and following up on outstanding claims. The ideal candidate is highly organized, demonstrates strong time management skills, and communicates professionally with both patients and insurance companies.
Key Responsibilities:
Post insurance payments (EOBs) and electronic funds transfers (EFTs) accurately into the EMR system Collect and process patient payments in accordance with office policies Follow up on outstanding and unpaid insurance claims in a timely manner Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits Identify and correct claim errors or denials; resubmit claims as needed Communicate with insurance companies to resolve payment discrepancies and claim issues Print and mail patient statements Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts receivable records Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards Provide excellent phone etiquette when communicating with patients and payers
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or a healthcare setting preferred (pediatrics experience a plus) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Professional, dependable, and punctual Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment:
Fast-paced pediatric medical office setting Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and adapt to changing priorities This position plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the practice while supporting a positive experience for our patients and families.
Pay:
$16.00 - $23.00 per hour
