This position works closely with the Pastor, Staff, and Board of Trustees and serves as an important first point of contact for members of the congregation and community. Schedule September

Mid-June:
24 hours per week, including Monday-Thursday, 9 am
1 pm

Summer:

12 hours per week, including Tuesday and Thursday, 9 am

12 pm

Vacation:

Two weeks annually, based on total annual hours

Compensation:

$27.00 per hour, paid equally throughout the year Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to the pastor and church staff.
Answer phones, greet visitors, manage email, mail, correspondence and church files.
Prepare weekly worship bulletins, electronic newsletters, annual reports, certificates, and other church publications.
Maintain the church master calendar and coordinate scheduling of meetings, events, facility use and required inspections.
Maintain membership, mailing, Sunday School, baptism, wedding, funeral, and other church records.
Serve as liaison with church committees, vendors, campus partners, and community organizations.
Coordinate facility rentals and communicate the required set-up and cleanup.
Purchase and maintain office and janitorial supplies. Bookkeeping Responsibilities
Record weekly deposits and financial transactions.
Pay bills and process reimbursements.
Process monthly payroll information and record payroll changes and expenses.
Reconcile bank accounts and work with Treasurer to prepare financial reports.
Maintain vendor tax-exempt information and assist with annual 1099 reporting.
Process Outreach donation checks and correspondence.
Maintain financial records using Quicken , with transition to QuickBooks in 2026-2027 .

Qualifications The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, professional and able to maintain strict confidentiality. Strong communication, writing, proofreading, and computer skills are important. Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Publisher, Constant Contact, Realm/ACS Technologies, Paychex Flex, Quicken, and/or QuickBooks is beneficial. The Administrative Assistant / Bookkeeper works under the direction of the Pastor and is accountable to the Pastor and Board of Trustees . We are looking for someone who will bring professionalism, warmth, reliability, sensitivity and attention to detail to this important role within our church and community.
