•46,000 SUMMARY Our innovative and award-winning Business Office is looking for a proactive and reliable Fiscal Services Coordinator to join our collaborative team. This position is responsible for all aspects of the school district's internal controls and accounting for purchases made by District staff. As a result, you will develop a broad understanding of the functions related to business office operations. Because purchases are decentralized amongst multiple sites with multiple people, it is critical that we have orderly procedures and internal controls in dealing with District funds in order to safeguard the assets of the District to ensure that District funds are properly spent and accounted for.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor purchase orders and purchase requisitions for compliance with procedures, Board Policy, auditor expectations, and State regulations. Approve purchase orders. Monitor invoices for compliance with procedures, Board Policy, auditor expectations, and State regulations. Process checks and electronic funds transfer for payments. Maintain purchasing card system and accounting for purchasing card purchases for compliance with Board Policy, auditor expectations, and State regulations.

Set up new vendors:

W-9 taxpayer identification certifications, credit applications, tax exemption certificates. Write and document journal entries. Maintain and train procedural and systems matters related to expenditures of the General Fund, Community Services Fund, Food Services Fund, and other District Funds as needed. Exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to expenditures of the General Fund, Community Services Fund, Food Services Fund, and other District Funds. Understand and apply fund accounting principles. Uphold Board Policies, auditor expectations, and State regulations appropriate to specific duties. Develop and maintain relevant sections for the Business Office website. Be/become proficient with various software applications such as New World Systems, ARUX, MicroSoft Excel spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word document processing software, gmail, Google Docs, and as others develop. You will also work with various vendor websites for purchasing cards and purchasing supplies. Work directly with appropriate contacts and resources within the department, within the district, with outside vendors, and with outside resources. Be able to handle confidential information both professionally and personally. Embrace existing and new technologies (i.e. accounting software, payroll software, email, spreadsheet, presentation software, word processing, and web applications related to all business operations) to become both effective and efficient with the specific duties of your position. Backup and cross-train for other positions in the Business Office. EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE

Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel software, spreadsheets, data import and export, vendor software applications, and other technology to support efficient and effective operation and to create, balance, analyze, and verify data and information. Minimum Associates Degree in accounting or related field or actively enrolled in a program to attain a Bachelor's Degree. You will receive training through the Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO) that will lead to an appropriate professional certification.

QUALITIES

Proficient in developing and using complex spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet software. Demonstrated accounting and financial aptitude. Dependable. There is much work to be accomplished with a small staff. Great interpersonal skills balanced with assertiveness to resolve issues and get the job done right. Prioritize tasks and switch tasks quickly while maintaining focus, accuracy, and task completion. Organized, with an innate ability to work quickly, accurately, thoroughly, and have a strong attention to detail. Takes initiative and works independently to plan, organize, and complete own work processes to meet timelines. Exhibits a high level of dependability, professionalism, and professional maturity with the ability to handle confidential information, use good judgment, plan and handle practical and complex projects and maintain a flexible attitude.

Business Office hours are M-F 7:30 am

•4:00 pm. A part-time option is available, which is 32 hours per week. Applicant testing, reference check, and credit history check will be conducted. A criminal history check conducted by the Michigan State Police (MSP) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) must be completed prior to beginning work with the district. The cost for fingerprinting and processing is the responsibility of the employee.
