Position Overview:
The Accounting Specialist develops and maintains, in conjunction with the Business Manager, an accounting system to accomplish a proper recording, measuring and reporting of all operations, transactions, assets, and liabilities of MIPRTC, Inc., and ensures the maintenance of adequate records and determines proper accounting for all expenditures.
Key Responsibilities:
Assures continuous internal controls and audit of all accounts and records of MIPRTC, Inc. Assists the Business Manager in preparation of accounts for external audit from independent Certified Public Accountants. Analyze and record forms such as: Quarterly Reports, Form 941, W-2, W-3, 1099, and 1095C. Prepares weekly check disbursements for accounts payable. Adequately stores records for accounts payable on an annual basis. Prepares, interprets, and disseminates Financial Statements to the Administrator and the Business Manager monthly. Monitor cash flow and cash flow needs to facilitate the orderly conduct of operations. Prepares monthly reconciliation of bank statements. Monitors and assists with payroll review.
Qualifications:
A two-year Associate's Degree in Accounting, preferably Bachelor's Degree. Knowledge of accounting and public financial administration. Must possess considerable knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and the ability to apply them to accounting transactions. Ability to analyze records and reports, locate errors and recommend solutions to procedural or other problems. Subject to pre-employment, post-accident, return to duty, follow-up, and random drug testing. Subject to pre-employment background check.
