Purpose of Position:
We are seeking a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills and attention to detail to join our accounting department as an Accounting Specialist. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with an understanding of GAAP, compliance, and best practices. They will be responsible for accurate and timely processing monthly financials and monthly bank reconciliations for local small business clients, and creating added value by helping clients understand their financials and trends. Position will support the accounting team with data entry, 1099 processing, and other accounting support functions. Essential Job Functions Maintain accurate and timely accounting records for a variety of small business clients. Prepare and maintain financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Meet strict and recurring deadlines for accounting, bank reconciliations, payroll, sales tax-related, and other client deliverables. Review accounting records and financial information with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Identify accounting discrepancies, research the underlying causes, and resolve problems appropriately. Create, maintain, and regularly update internal documentation of accounting processes, procedures, and workflows. Maintain orderly and consistent electronic files and supporting documentation so information can be easily located and reviewed. Communicate professionally and effectively with business owners and clients by phone, email, and in person. Communicate effectively with internal personnel and work collaboratively with other members of the accounting and tax teams. Provide a friendly, cheerful, and professional experience for clients and coworkers. Manage multiple client responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, organization, and productivity. Work independently and demonstrate initiative in completing assignments without requiring constant supervision. Meet established productivity and efficiency standards while maintaining a high standard of quality. Use sound judgment to analyze accounting issues, identify solutions, and determine when additional assistance or review is necessary. Maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate care when handling sensitive financial and client information. Consistently follow established firm procedures, documentation standards, and quality-control processes.

Communication:
Excellent verbal, in-person, and written communication skills are vital for interacting with clients and team members through phone, email, and in-person.
Customer Service:
A friendly and professional demeanor is essential for providing exceptional client service.
Organizational Skills:
Strong organizational abilities are essential to manage appointments, documents, and data efficiently. Attention to

Meticulous attention to detail is crucial when handling financial data and important documents.
Time Management:
Efficiently prioritize tasks and manage time to ensure deadlines are met and operations run smoothly. Requires ability to manage time well to plan ahead/around personal absences to ensure payrolls for clients are always on time.
Technology Proficiency:
Familiarity with common Microsoft Office software is preferred. We use Outlook, Word, and Excel frequently and will train you on in-house accounting software.
Self-Driven:
This position needs to be self-driven to achieve an efficient productivity standard and to serve a large number and wide variety of clients.
Qualifications:
College degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting or finance preferred. Three years of experience in accounting, payroll or finance is preferred.
Licensing/Certification:
None required. Certified Public Accountant or Enrolled Agent License is preferred (can work towards for future career growth). Apply Today!
