Greenville, NC Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Teamwork Attention to detail Business Associate's degree Office experience Full Job Description Position Summary Concor, Inc. is seeking an organized, dependable Construction Accounting & Job Cost Specialist to support our accounting and project administration functions. This position is ideal for someone who has experience with accounts payable, job costing, general accounting, and office administration and enjoys keeping financial information accurate and organized. The person in this role will work closely with our Financial Administrator, project managers, field personnel, vendors, and subcontractors. A major focus of the position will be reviewing and processing invoices, accurately assigning costs to construction projects, tracking supporting documentation, and helping ensure our job cost records are complete and current. Construction accounting experience is strongly preferred, but we will consider an experienced accounting or accounts payable professional who is willing to learn construction-specific processes. Primary Responsibilities
Receive, review, code, and enter vendor invoices
Assign invoices, credit card transactions, equipment costs, and other expenses to the correct project and cost code
Review job cost information for accuracy and identify missing or incorrectly assigned costs
Match invoices with purchase orders, packing slips, receipts, and other supporting documentation
Monitor transactions that are missing job numbers, cost codes, receipts, or approvals
Communicate with project managers and field personnel to obtain missing information
Maintain vendor records, including W-9s, contact information, payment details, and certificates of insurance when applicable
Assist with new vendor and subcontractor setup
Track employee and company credit card receipts
Assist with customer billing backup, change order documentation, and schedules of values
Review accounting information for duplicate invoices, incorrect amounts, or other discrepancies
Assist with accounts payable reports, job cost reports, project summaries, and other accounting schedules
Maintain organized electronic and paper project files
Assist with reconciliations and month-end accounting tasks
Provide general office and project administrative support as needed
Serve as a reliable accounting backup during busy periods or employee absences Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, job costing, construction accounting, or a similar role
Experience assigning expenses to projects, jobs, departments, or cost codes
Strong understanding of invoices, purchase orders, vendor statements, receipts, and supporting documentation
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft 365 applications
Experience with QuickBooks Online is strongly preferred
Experience with Knowify, Monday.com, or construction management software is helpful
Comfortable learning new software and accounting processes
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to organize and prioritize a high volume of invoices, receipts, and project information
Ability to identify discrepancies and follow through until they are resolved
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while also collaborating with project managers and field personnel
Associate degree in accounting, business, or a related field is preferred but not required with relevant experience What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and understands that accurate job costing depends on complete and properly documented information.
