This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with at least 2 years of hands-on accounting experience who is looking to join a collaborative team and continue growing their career. Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the month-end closing process , including accruals, allocations, adjusting entries, and journal entries Prepare and maintain balance sheets, income statements, and supporting Excel schedules Analyze budget-to-actual reports and prepare adjusting entries as necessary Prepare prepaid and business insurance schedules, payments, allocations, and system entries Perform account analysis and ensure transactions are recorded in the appropriate accounting periods Assist with investment accounting , including interest, dividends, cash activity, and unrealized gains/losses Review outstanding purchase orders and determine necessary accruals Assist with grant billing and fund drawdowns Review assigned accounts payable batches for accuracy and timeliness Support the annual audit process and respond to accounting-related requests Assist with additional accounting projects as needed The position will have shared responsibility for month-end close, financial reporting, budget-to-actual analysis, accruals, allocations, AP review, grant billing, and audit support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Minimum 2+ years of direct accounting experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles Hands-on experience with month-end close and journal entries Strong understanding of debits, credits, and balance sheet accounts Experience with allocations and account reconciliations Accounts payable experience is a plus Nonprofit accounting experience is a strong plus Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables Experience with an ERP/accounting system Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Position Details:
This is a 100% on-site position during the temporary period . After conversion to permanent employment and completion of the required introductory period, there may be an opportunity for one remote day per week .
Pay:
$21.50•24.00/hour
Anticipated Salary Upon Conversion:
