Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Part Time Book Keeper to join our team! This dynamic role offers an exciting opportunity to manage financial records, ensure accuracy in accounting processes, and support our organization's financial health. As a key member of our finance team, you will handle a variety of bookkeeping duties, contribute to financial reporting, and help maintain compliance with accounting standards. This position is perfect for someone with a passion for numbers, strong organizational skills, and experience working with diverse accounting software systems. Responsibilities Record and maintain accurate financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems. Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure consistency between bank statements and internal records. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, including invoice processing and payment tracking. Prepare journal entries, ledger postings, and general ledger reconciliations in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Assist with payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate employee payments while adhering to tax regulations. Support month-end and year-end closing procedures by preparing financial reports and conducting balance sheet reconciliations. Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions, including debits & credits, account analysis, and account reconciliation activities. Requirements Proven bookkeeping experience with a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping and accounting concepts. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and non-profit or corporate accounting practices is preferred. Strong skills in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), 10-key typing, and data entry accuracy. Knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, and financial report writing. Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation efficiently. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of GAAP standards and technical accounting principles related to governmental or non-profit organizations is a plus.
