Payroll and Accounts Payable Coordinator
Job Description
Summary:
The Payroll and Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for accurate and timely processing of payroll records, and accounts payable functions. This position is to maintain compliance with all company policies and applicable regulations.
Job Duties:
Payroll:
1. Process biweekly payrolls for all employees 2. Review and verify employee hours, timecards, schedules, and payroll adjustments 3. Ensure payroll accuracy with wages, overtime, paid time off, and deductions 4. Process new hire payroll setup, direct deposit changes, tax withholdings, and wage garnishments. 5. Reconcile payroll reports and submit required payroll-related documentation. 6. Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly. 7. Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution. 8. Assist with benefits enrollment and deductions
Accounts Payable:
1. Posting of all of Meat/Deli/vendors payables 2. Posts all department transfers of merchandise 3. Backup for the advantage checks and programs
Administrative:
1. Maintain organized payroll records, and assist with payables 2. Assists with audits for information 3. Generate reports for payroll and payables 4. Other duties as assigned Required skills/abilities: 1. Maintain confidentiality of records 2. Excellent attention to detail 3. Understanding of payroll practices and wage and hour laws 4. Strong organizational and time management skills 5. Ability to meet deadlines 6. Proficient with Microsoft and payroll/accounting software 7. Be able to understand Union contracts
Licenses and Certifications:
Education:
• Associates degree in related field, preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered Work environment: Office environment
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and working at a desk or related equipment Ability to repeat repetitive movements over long periods of time Expected hours: 40.0 per week
