Bookkeeper / Accounts Payable & Receivable Specialist Gold Star Metals Channelview, TX Job Details Full-time $75,000 a year 12 hours ago Benefits Paid training Health insurance Paid time off Qualifications Spanish English High school diploma or GED Attention to detail QuickBooks Business Accounting Full Job Description Gold Star Metals — a full-service scrap metal provider, processor, and exporter based in Channelview/Houston, TX — is looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / AP & AR Specialist to own the day-to-day financial transactions that keep our operation running. In this role you'll be the financial link between our purchase and sales activity and our suppliers and customers, making sure every ticket is recorded accurately and every payment is collected on time. What you'll do Record and reconcile daily purchase and sales tickets into our accounting system Enter and categorize company expenses accurately and on schedule Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable from start to finish Communicate with suppliers and customers to collect outstanding payments and keep accounts current Serve as a point of contact for suppliers and customers to research and resolve billing questions, discrepancies, and any issues that come up Maintain clean, organized financial records and assist with month-end close Coordinate with the operations and management teams to keep transaction data accurate What we're looking for 1-3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, or a similar transactional finance role Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets; experience with NetSuite is a strong plus Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers and data entry Clear, professional communication skills — comfortable reaching out to suppliers and customers by phone and email to collect payments and resolve issues Ability to stay organized, prioritize, and follow through in a fast-paced environment High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or a degree in accounting, finance, or business is a plus Reliable and able to work full-time, on-site in Channelview, TX Why Gold Star Metals Competitive salary of $75,000/year Full-time, stable position with an established scrap metal processor and exporter A hands-on role where your work directly supports the business Gold Star Metals is an equal opportunity employer.
