Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices while maintaining compliance with financial policies and regulations. Your expertise in financial software, accounting principles, and data management will help streamline operations and support our organization's financial integrity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in financial management. Duties Process and verify vendor invoices using various accounting systems such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Perform detailed account reconciliations, including general ledger reconciliation and accounts payable ledger review, to ensure data integrity. Manage invoice processing workflows, utilizing accounts payable automation tools like Paychex or Ceridian for efficiency. Prepare journal entries related to accounts payable transactions and maintain accurate records of all financial activities. Conduct thorough analysis of accounts payable data using Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, formulas, and spreadsheet analysis to identify discrepancies or trends. Ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by maintaining proper documentation and segregation of duties. Collaborate with internal teams on month-end closing activities, including account reconciliation and financial reporting support. Requirements Proven experience in accounts payable functions within a corporate or public accounting environment, with familiarity in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial compliance standards related to accounts payable processes. Proficiency in financial software systems like Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian for payroll and HRIS management. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; experience with 10-key typing is preferred. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets using Excel data analysis techniques, including formulas and pivot tables. Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles and general ledger accounting practices. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while ensuring regulatory compliance. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
