Job Description

Laufer Trucking, Inc is a family owned and operated trucking company based in Hartford, WI since 1977. We are adding a full-time position to our accounting team, with the ability to assist with a/p, payroll, a/r, and other accounting functions. This is an in-office position. We are looking for candidates with a strong employment history and a demonstrated pattern of longevity with previous employers. Pay will be based upon qualifications and experience.
Principal Responsibilities:
  • Process Accounts Payable vouchers and/or Accounts Receivable invoices for multiple entities within the Laufer Enterprises organization.
  • Review open invoice listings on weekly basis for payments to vendors, and/or payments from customers. Process payments to vendors through multiple channels.
  • Review bank records and remittance correspondences to post online or automated vendor payments into ledgers.
  • Assist with coordination and processing of weekly company payrolls including driver mileage and pay statements.
  • Collect, organize, scan and file paperwork
  • Assign rates to freight bills
  • Process freight bills
  • Verify and enter bill of lading numbers, piece counts, and weights into Transportation Management Software (McLeod)
  • Maintain excel files for customer and internal tracking needs
  • Prepare ledger account analysis statements and reconciliations at month-end
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other related operational duties (scanning, data entry, faxing, billing tasks, etc) as assigned
  • Assist with special accounting projects such as annual insurance audits or licensing requirements
  • Variety of operational duties, such as organizing company merchandise, event planning, processing mail, etc Qualifications/Requirements
  • HS diploma, associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of accounting, administrative or office support experience
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Proficient in MS office systems, printer/scanner/copiers, and general office equipment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Possess adequate computer skills necessary to perform the functions of the position
