Location Mauston Agency Health Services Full/Part Time Full-Time Regular/Temporary Regular Classification Code 00162 Classification Title Financial Specialist-Sen Add to My Favorite Jobs Email this Job Introduction Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center (SRSTC) within the Department of Health Services (DHS) is hiring two full-time Financial Specialist Senior positions, one for Patient Accounts and one for Accounts Payable. Work hours are 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with weekends off. SRSTC opened in 2001 and provides care and treatment for several different patient populations. The center houses Wisconsin's Sexually Violent Persons Program, provides care and treatment for persons found not guilty by reasons of mental disease or mental defect, and provides court ordered treatment, testing, and education to patients found not competent to stand trial. SRSTC is a 500-bed treatment facility and is part of the Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS). Watch this video to learn more about the work of DCTS . Position Summary As the Financial Specialist Senior for Patient Accounts, your duties will include the following: Administering patient payroll and patient disbursement activities for approximately 350 patients utilizing a computerized subsidiary ledger system and Insight/RTFA (Resident Trust Fund Accounting). Processing, auditing, and generating patient account statements, coordinating patient payroll and canteen orders, generating patient checks, and performing a variety of miscellaneous fiscal duties. Ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions while maintaining compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and internal controls. As the Financial Specialist Senior for Accounts Payable, your duties will include the following: Administering the institution's accounts payable functions. Bookkeeping, accounting, reconciling, and auditing duties to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial transactions across all appropriations. Maintaining financial records, processing payments, reconciling accounts, and supporting fiscal reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP), the Wisconsin Accounting Manual, and applicable state and agency policies and procedures. Salary Information The starting pay is $26.61 per hour (approximately $55,300 per year), plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule and range 02/13. Job Details All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SRSTC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date. DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following: Experience performing financial duties such as reviewing and auditing financial transactions and documentation. Experience using Microsoft Office programs (e.g., creating documents and spreadsheets, maintaining calendars, email correspondence, etc.). Experience providing customer service (e.g. gathering information, answering questions, resolving customer complaints/conflict, etc.) using various communications methods (e.g., verbal, email, phone, email, etc.) in working with internal and external customers. Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following: Experience using business software applications (e.g. Peoplesoft, Quickbooks, Peachtree, etc.).
