Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in accounting software and financial concepts, with a focus on maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting various accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in multiple accounting platforms and have a solid understanding of GAAP and double-entry bookkeeping principles. Responsibilities Manage and maintain accurate general ledger accounting, including journal entries and account analysis Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure data integrity Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, in accordance with GAAP standards Utilize accounting software QuickBooks Online and financial tools to record and analyze financial data Handle payroll processing and tax-related tasks with precision Conduct budget analysis and assist with financial planning activities Ensure compliance with governmental accounting regulations and non-profit or corporate accounting standards as applicable Maintain detailed documentation of all bookkeeping activities for audit readiness Support month-end closing procedures and assist in audit preparations as needed Requirements Proven experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial systems Strong understanding of GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax preparation Knowledge of governmental accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial report writing Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical skills for account analysis and account reconciliation tasks Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively This position is integral to maintaining the financial health of our organization by ensuring precise recordkeeping and compliance with all relevant standards.
