Position Summary The Chief Financial Officer exercises significant independent judgment and leadership in advancing academic excellence, supporting community engagement, fostering economic development, ensuring operational effectiveness, and strengthening external partnerships that enhance the College's impact and sustainability. This position is intended to be filled by a transferring employee. Essential Duties and Responsibilities All positions at Coastal Alabama have the job responsibilities below: Handles sensitive information in a confidential manner. Maintains a highly professional attitude and demeanor at all times. Provides responsible, appropriate, and satisfactory leadership on campus and within the College. Communicates positively and professionally in all aspects of the position. Attends all employee meetings, College meetings, and professional development activities. Becomes thoroughly familiar with all pertinent state and national policies and comply with said policies. Serves on and provides information to college committees as needed. Complies with ACCS and College policies, as well as state and federal laws. Ensures the positive promotion of the College and integration of all campuses within the College. Is prompt and punctual in reporting for work, meetings, and office hours. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications 1. Develop budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial strategies; analyze financial data to guide decision-making. 2. Supervise accounting and finance departments; ensure accurate preparation of income statements, balance sheets, and regulatory reports. 3. Monitor cash flow, manage assets, and optimize capital structure to support operational and strategic goals. 4. Implement internal controls, assess financial risks, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 5. Communicate with auditors. 6. Interpret rules and regulations within the financial realm. 7. Maintain knowledge of current trends and within the ACCS system. 8. Make presentations of findings as requested. 9. Lead staff development and monitor goals and objectives for the department. 10. Maintain a working relationship with the Foundation to establish and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders. 11. Perform related duties as assigned.
