Power Pallet, Inc. is seeking an accomplished Manufacturing Controller / Director of Finance to become a key member of our executive leadership team. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership opportunity with a stable, third-generation, family-owned manufacturing company with more than 50 years of success. You will work directly with ownership and operational leadership to strengthen financial performance, improve decision-making, increase visibility into costs and margins, and help guide the company's continued growth. This is not a traditional back-office accounting position. The right person will want to understand how the business operates, spend time with the people running it, and use financial insight to improve profitability, efficiency, and long-term performance. What You Will Own As Controller / Director of Finance, you will lead the company's financial and accounting functions while serving as a strategic partner to ownership and operational leadership.
Leading monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
Preparing accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and business analyses
Developing budgets, forecasts, cash-flow projections, and long-term financial plans
Reviewing labor, material, overhead, freight, production, and other operational cost drivers
Improving visibility into product costs, customer profitability, operating margins, and financial performance
Establishing and maintaining effective financial controls, policies, and procedures
Overseeing accounting records, reconciliations, reporting systems, and financial processes
Partnering with ownership on business planning, capital investments, growth initiatives, and strategic decisions
Working closely with operational leaders to understand performance challenges and identify practical solutions
Identifying opportunities to improve profitability, working capital, cash flow, and operational efficiency
Communicating financial results clearly to both financial and nonfinancial leaders
Supporting process improvements and the continued development of the company's financial infrastructure What Success Looks Like The successful candidate will help

Improve understanding of manufacturing costs, margins, inventory, and profitability
Create clearer financial and operational performance measurements
Improve budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning
Develop stronger financial systems, processes, and internal controls
Provide ownership with practical, forward-looking financial guidance
Turn financial information into actions that improve the business Required Experience and Capabilities Candidates must have direct experience working in the financial or accounting function of a manufacturing company.
The successful candidate will bring:
Progressive experience in accounting, finance, controllership, or financial leadership
Direct manufacturing finance or manufacturing accounting experience
Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, job costing, margins, labor, overhead, and production costs
Experience leading financial close, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management
The ability to analyze operational and financial information and recommend practical improvements
Strong Excel, analytical, reconciliation, and financial reporting skills
The confidence to work directly with company ownership and senior leadership
Excellent judgment, organization, accountability, and attention to detail
The ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and respectfully
A professional and trustworthy approach to confidential business information
A hands-on leadership style and a willingness to understand the operation beyond the numbers Direct manufacturing experience is essential for this position.
Experience limited exclusively to banking, professional services, retail, nonprofit, or other nonmanufacturing environments will not provide the operational foundation required for this role. Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are preferred but will not automatically determine eligibility:
Previous experience as a Controller, Director of Finance, Finance Manager, Plant Controller, Accounting Manager, or senior manufacturing accounting professional
Experience using QuickBooks or comparable accounting and financial-management software
Experience supporting a privately held or family-owned manufacturing company
A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Business Administration Candidates without a bachelor's degree will be considered when they can demonstrate a strong and successful background in both manufacturing and finance.
Compensation $100,000-$150,000 per year Compensation will be based on the candidate's manufacturing finance experience, leadership background, qualifications, and demonstrated ability to contribute to the organization.
