We're looking for a Revenue Cycle Claims Followup Specialist to join our growing team. The Claims Follow Up Specialist manages, investigates, and resolves outstanding or denied insurance claims to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement. They act as a liaison between healthcare providers, patients, and insurance carriers to maintain healthy cash flow and minimize lost revenue. The right candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast paced environment and will feel confident taking charge of multiple projects. The successful candidates are detail oriented and able to work independently as well as within a team environment. Please note that this position is not remote.

Responsibilities:

Perform daily filing functions. Review and code all insurance claims in accordance with internal and external requirements. Complete daily accounts receivable reconciliations and prepare reports of findings. Properly schedule insurance claim payments to ensure that no payments are made that would violate internal or external regulatory guidelines. Monitor aging accounts receivable (A/R) and track the status of unpaid claims by regularly contacting payers. Investigate the root causes of denied or delayed claims, correct errors, and resubmit them. Prepare and file formal disputes with supporting documentation for denied or underpaid claims. Audit received payments against contractual terms and post transactions to patient accounts. Serve as the primary point of contact for insurance representatives, attorneys, patients, and internal coding department to resolve billing discrepancies.
