Job Description

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Technical Compliance Specialist is responsible for overseeing the receipt of controlled and regulated shipments of gaming hardware and software, performing verification procedures on all server and machine software. Manages vendor licensing renewals. Ensure adherence to 25 CFR 547 - Minimum Technical Standards for Class II Gaming Systems and Equipment, and 25 CFR 543 - Minimum Internal Control Standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor compliance of Bingo Gaming Systems and equipment with the Minimum Technical Standards for Class II gaming and Minimum Internal Control Standards.
  • Coordinate the shipment of controlled and regulated gaming equipment, including count machines, jackpot processors, and kiosks, in collaboration with Casino Management and vendors.
  • Oversee the receipt of Bingo game, gaming machine, and kiosk software; manage the input of software into the gaming machine inventory management system.
  • Perform verification procedures on Bingo game and gaming machine software, investigating any discrepancies as necessary.
  • Monitor the installation, relocation, conversion, and removal of gaming machines to ensure security and compliance with internal controls and technical standards, maintaining accurate records.
  • Review gaming machine and Bingo game software in comparison with lab and vendor reports to identify and address any revoked software.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies through training programs and media, ensuring knowledge of the latest vendor technologies.
  • Process vendor license renewals in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding all sensitive information.
  • Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
  • Comprehensive understanding of all Class II gaming activities authorized at the gaming facility.
  • Knowledgeable of Minimum Technical Standards (25CFR547) and Minimum Internal Control Standards for Class II gaming (25CFR543).
  • Strong communication, critical thinking and analytical skills, research, and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail, effectively resolving challenges and improving outcomes.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical reports and bulletins.
  • Skilled in responding to inquiries or addressing complaints from customers or regulatory agencies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with Casino team members and management.
  • Valid California ID and reliable transportation.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, including both written and verbal forms.
  • Pass background investigation and suitability determination of the Tribe to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Cannot be related to, living with, or married to, any Management or Team Member of the San Pablo Lytton Casino
  • Verify right to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years or more experience as a gaming machine technician performing same or similar job functions.
  • Bachelors' Degree or equivalent from a four (4) year college or university in Engineering or related field. Physical Requirements
  • Specific required movements include the following: o Trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, and carry. o Arms-reach, carry, push, pull, lift, twist, and rotate. o Legs-lift, push, pull, twist, and rotate. o Hands-grasp, manipulate, bilateral coordination, eye and hand coordination, overall and finger dexterity. o Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Close vision and color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors.)

  • Work is performed primarily indoors.
  • More than 40 hours a week will be required at times. Work hours subject to change.
  • Subject to hazards which may cause personal bodily harm; smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors, and elevated noise levels.
  • Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
  • Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
