Job Description

[ Position ] Trade Compliance Controller [ Summary ] A leading global automotive components manufacturer is seeking a Trade Compliance Controller. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day trade compliance activities in accordance with internal customs import-export policies and ensuring full adherence to local, national, and international trade laws, tariffs, export controls, and customs regulations. [ Essential Duties ] Receive, monitor, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of global trade laws, regulations, tariffs, sanctions, and customs requirements. Ensure corporate adherence to import/export laws, export controls, anti-money laundering regulations, and trade compliance policies. Create, enforce, and audit internal trade compliance policies and procedures. Ensure accuracy of customs declarations, shipping documents, permits, and customer-required documentation (e.g., SLIs, USMCA, AALA, certificates of origin). Determine and verify correct HS codes for imported/exported goods and perform routine classification audits. Maintain relationships with government agencies, customs officials, and legal experts regarding regulatory updates. [ Working Hours / Working style ] Full-time, Salary Exempt. On-site plant/office environment. Travel (local, domestic overnight, or international) is rare. [ Working Location ] Franklin, KY [ Salary / Benefit ] $75K-$90K / year (Salary Exempt, DOE) Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) retirement plan with company matching; paid time off and paid holidays. [ Holidays ] Company Holidays + Paid Time Off (in accordance with company policy) [ Qualifications ] High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, International Relations, or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in international trade compliance and import/export compliance roles. Deep understanding of customs regulations, laws, procedures, and Harmonized System (HS) code classifications. Proficiency in using ERP systems and databases for documentation management. Certified Trade Compliance and/or Export Specialist certification desired. Strong organizational, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
