$70,000-$80,000 Position Overview We are seeking a Trade Compliance Administrator to support export and trade compliance activities within a highly regulated aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. export-control and customs regulations, including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and U.S. Customs requirements . The position will work cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, contracts, and program management to ensure products, technical data, and shipments are handled in accordance with applicable regulations. Key Responsibilities Administer export compliance activities in accordance with: U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) U.S. Customs regulations Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements Classify products, components, and technical data under EAR and ITAR guidelines. Prepare and review export documentation, including: Commercial invoices Shipper's Export Declarations (SED/EEI) Bills of lading Certificates of origin Coordinate export license applications and monitor license provisos. Conduct restricted-party screenings and maintain audit-ready documentation. Partner with engineering, supply chain, contracts, and program management teams to ensure compliant shipments. Support internal and external compliance audits. Maintain export records in accordance with regulatory retention requirements. Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders regarding trade compliance matters. Identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.
Required Qualifications Mandatory Certification:
Export Customs Specialist Certificate OR Export Specialist Certificate. 3-7 years of experience in export compliance, customs administration, or trade compliance within the aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing industries . Strong working knowledge of ITAR and EAR regulations . Proficiency with ERP systems and export compliance software tools. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with defense contracts or controlled technical data. Familiarity with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications . Experience supporting government audits or voluntary disclosures. Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
