Role:
The Consumer Lending Specialist I role is primarily responsible for owning the Onboarding Lending Experience for our Members. Responsibilities include the delivery of a seamless, Member-focused lending experience by handling inbound consumer loan requests via phone and online channels. This role plays a key part in verifying applications, clarifying Members' needs and providing them with a detailed overview of the lending process. Responsibilities include adhering to lending policies and procedures, assisting Members with loan-related needs, and providing support or problem-solving through digital channels. This role also focuses on meeting and exceeding sales and loan goals while championing Mazuma's culture and core values.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
Develop and maintain strong relationships with Credit Union Members by delivering personalized service and financial guidance. Address Member inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and loyalty. Uphold professional phone and written communication etiquette in all interactions. Conduct thorough assessments of Members' financial situations to identify their needs and recommend appropriate Credit Union products and services. Actively promote Mazuma Credit Union's loan offerings to enhance Members' financial well-being. Originate loan applications submitted by phone. Thoroughly verify applicant information and clarify lending requests. Documenting applications with relevant notes needed for decision. Manage daily workflow and prioritize tasks to meet service level expectations. With the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Effectively communicate details of all Mazuma's lending products and ancillary products. Effectively communicate details of each disclosure and loan document type to Members. Meet and exceed expectations in loan production, referrals, cross-selling, and any other assigned goals. Collaborate with internal Teams to ensure seamless service delivery and Member engagement across all touchpoints. Monitor and analyze Member feedback to identify opportunities for service improvement and innovation. Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes to provide Members with up-to-date information and advice.

Knowledge and Skills:
Required Experience:
0- 2 years of experience in a banking or finance related role
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of credit union policies and regulations 1 year of lending sales experience Experience in a call-center or out-bound sales
Education:
Required Education :
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education :
Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
Other Skills :
Effective problem solving and sound decision making Strong organizational skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation. Ability to multi-task Excellent verbal and written communication Basic proficiency in computer systems and willingness to learn internal platforms
Physical Requirements:
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situations. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer, tablet, telephone, copier, facsimile, printer, scanner, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
Work Environment :
