May be required Summary This position is responsible for delivering exceptional member service while efficiently managing a high volume of lending activities. Loan Officers take a personalized approach to understanding each member's unique financial circumstances and are committed to helping members achieve their financial goals through responsible lending solutions. The Loan Officer evaluates loan applications by analyzing credit reports, income, collateral, and other financial information to determine creditworthiness and make sound lending decisions in accordance with credit union policies and regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for accurately processing loan applications, maintaining complete and compliant loan documentation, communicating lending decisions, and responding promptly to member inquiries. In addition to originating loans, the Loan Officer identifies opportunities to strengthen member relationships by recommending products and services that best meet each member's financial needs. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to providing an outstanding member experience.   • Deliver exceptional, professional, and courteous member service while efficiently managing a high volume of loan applications and member interactions.
  • Interview members to understand their borrowing needs and educate them on available loan products, credit options, rates, terms, and repayment requirements.
  • Accurately process loan applications, transactions, data entry, disclosures, and supporting documentation while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Collect, verify, and review all required documentation necessary to evaluate and process consumer loan requests.
  • Analyze credit reports, income, debt, collateral, and other financial information to assess creditworthiness and determine loan eligibility.
  • Recommend loan protection products and other value-added services that help protect members and meet their financial needs.
  • Clearly explain loan terms, rates, fees, repayment obligations, and required documentation to members.
  • Build and maintain strong member relationships through exceptional service and proactive communication.
  • Exercise sound judgment when making lending decisions within delegated lending authority and refer loans exceeding approval limits to the appropriate level of management.
  • Communicate loan approvals, denials, counteroffers, and required conditions to members in a timely, professional manner while providing financial education as appropriate.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with local automobile dealerships and other business partners to support loan growth and member service.
  • Build and maintain a thorough knowledge of all credit union products and services to effectively identify opportunities that meet members' financial needs.
  • Proactively recommend additional products and services that enhance member relationships and support the credit union's strategic goals.
  • Research, resolve, and document member concerns, account discrepancies, and loan-related issues, escalating complex matters when appropriate.
  • Detect and report suspicious or fraudulent activity, including counterfeit currency, altered checks, identity theft, and other fraudulent financial transactions, in accordance with credit union policies.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to member inquiries received by telephone, email, digital channels, and in person.
  • Utilize loan origination systems, core processing software, Microsoft Office applications, and standard office equipment to perform daily responsibilities efficiently.
  • Manage an active loan pipeline by monitoring application status, obtaining outstanding documentation, and ensuring timely processing and funding of loans.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant loan files while adhering to all applicable federal regulations, credit union policies, and internal procedures.
  • Protect the confidentiality and security of member information at all times.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and be available to work all scheduled business hours.
  • Participate in training and continuing education to maintain current knowledge of lending regulations, products, and industry best practices.

                                            • High School Diploma or equivalent
                                            • 1 year experience working in the financial industry
                                            Preferred:
                                            • 1 year loan officer experience
                                            • Customer service experience
                                            • Sales experience Travel Minimal - Employee may be asked to travel to another branch occasionally or other areas in field of membership.
