Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Commissions Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will code and validate agent EFT bank information for approximately 14,000 agents. Provide our field force with commission assistance and website training. Assist with testing for commission and 1099 improvements and system upgrades. The location for this position is fully on-site at this time but may be able to become hybrid in the future. Duties Provide commission and website training to coworkers, agents, general agents, and Independent Marketing Organizations (IMO's). Code and validate agent EFT bank information; credit agents with returned EFT bank payments; reverse commissions on returned premium payments. Review commission earnings on terminated agents; remove service fees and transfer problem policies as needed. Research and resolve commission related issues, such as negative balances, payment plans, rewrites, Schedule A/5500s, returned mail, 1099s, unclaimed funds, stale-dated checks, death claim chargebacks, miscellaneous statement adjustments and general ledger reconciling items. Assist with court ordered tax/child support levies and judgments against agent earnings. Assist with monitoring negative commission balances by generating/following up on demand letters, payment plans, placing commission holds across companies, cash receipting payments, rolling balances up, requesting terminations and documenting balances for outside agencies. Assist with the daily check and EFT commission payments, including requesting manual payments when they do not produce automatically. Reverse home office commission payments and processing other commission write offs. Assist with commission rewrites and non-agent collected policy transfers. Assist with commission testing, 1099 validations, department mailings. Provide back-up support for other Commission team members. Critical Qualifications a. Experience, Education, Licenses/Certifications Customer service experience Prior accounting or banking experience b. Knowledge, Technology, Skills, Abilities Ability to research and resolve commission errors Strong verbal and written communication skills Detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task with accuracy Must be cross trained to assist coworkers as necessary so departmental deadlines are met Typing and computer skills, including various Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Access Preferred Qualifications LOMA Customer Service (ACS) designation
EOE Pay:
$36,000.00 - $39,000.00 per year
