Based in Arizona, this position will manage full-cycle U.S. general ledger operations, corporate compliance, and global group reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Beyond core accounting responsibilities, the US Commercial Controller will serve as a strategic financial partner to the local sales and manufacturing teams, ensure strict regulatory filing compliance, and act as the primary U.S. liaison for external auditors, tax agents, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), and tax authorities. As we continue expanding our U.S. sales and manufacturing operations, we are seeking an experienced finance professional to take ownership of the financial operations, compliance, and reporting requirements of our U.S. business. Key Responsibilities US Federal, Multi-State Tax & Audit Management Manage all U.S. federal corporate tax requirements Serve as the primary point of contact for external tax agents and CPAs during year-end tax preparation Lead and coordinate external corporate audits Prepare and provide required schedules, reconciliations, supporting documents, and other information to group and local auditors Oversee multi-state tax compliance as the company expands across the United States Monitor economic nexus thresholds in applicable states Manage filing and reporting requirements for active states Oversee sales tax, state income tax, and corporate registrations Maintain integrations with automated sales tax software Corporate & Payroll Compliance Governance Maintain oversight of U.S. payroll compliance, state tax registrations, and mandatory payroll-related filings Partner with the company's external payroll provider, ADP, and the group HR team responsible for day-to-day payroll administration Manage local factory compliance filings Prepare Arizona county personal property tax declarations and inventory reporting Monitor intercompany transactions Maintain transfer pricing documentation in accordance with Internal Revenue Service rules and global group agreements Direct statutory corporate renewals Manage Financial Crimes Enforcement Network beneficial ownership updates Manage annual state unclaimed property and escheatment reporting Business Partnering & Operational Insights Serve as the primary financial partner for the U.S. sales and factory leadership teams Analyze factory financial and operational performance Monitor manufacturing variances Review the accuracy of standard costing Evaluate and strengthen inventory controls Partner with the sales team to evaluate contract pricing Review customer profitability Assess gross margin and financial implications across different states Provide financial analysis and commercial insights to support management decisions Operations, Accounting & Group Reporting Manage day-to-day general ledger workflows Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable Manage month-end closing activities Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for group consolidation Perform conversions from U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to IFRS Ensure financial reporting complies with standards established by the company's international headquarters Maintain accurate accounting records, reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Mandarin is a plus Accounting major strongly preferred CPA certification or a master's degree is highly preferred Minimum of five years of progressive corporate accounting experience Proven experience with U.S. corporate taxation Experience managing multi-state nexus and tax compliance requirements Experience coordinating external audits Strong understanding of
U.S. GAAP
